Western Springs Friends of the Parks Foundation is happy to announce Ridgewood Park Baseball Dugout fundraising project in collaboration with Lyons Township Little League and Western Springs Park District!

SCOPE: This project includes installation of two fenced-in dugout areas attached to the existing structure at the Ridgewood Park Baseball Field to support youth baseball activities. Each dugout will measure approximately 8 feet by 30 feet and will include a protective roof structure to provide shade and weather protection. The dugouts will be equipped with benches enclosed by durable fencing to clearly define the player area and separate participants from active field play.

KEY FOCUS: Player safety, particularly for 5 to 8 year-old little league participants! Fully fenced in benches help prevent young players from wandering onto the field of play, reduce the risk of contact with bats, balls, or running players, and provide a controlled environment for team supervision. The fencing and roofed structure also enhance visibility for coaches while offering a safe, organized space where children can wait between innings. Overall, the project is designed to improve safety, organization, and the overall game-day experience for our little leaguers, coaches, and families.

FUNDRAISING TARGET: $17,500 by June 30, 2026.

Target is based on actual estimates received from contractors(that have worked on other projects for our park district) for the specific scope of this project as listed above. We would like to raise funds by the time spring season is done, so that work can be completed before the end of Summer 2026.
